Transitions in Spring from south to north, and again in Fall from north back south always present challenges. We have teamed with proven grower partners that handle transitions better than most, within the parameters of what the weather dishes out

USA:
We supply primarily from growers in Southern, Southeastern, and Midwestern states with access to NJ, CO, CA and the Pacific Northwest for select commodities.

According to the American Farm Bureau Foundation (https://www.fb.org/newsroom/fast-facts):

“1.9 million farms dot America’s rural landscape, and 95% are operated by families – individuals, family partnerships or family corporations” (USDA Census of Agriculture, 2022) “Women make up 36% of the total number of U.S. farm operators; 58% of all farms have at least one female decision-maker.”

“Americans enjoy a food supply that is abundant, affordable and among the world’s safest, thanks in large part to the efficiency and productivity of America’s farm and ranch families.”

“Farmers are embracing and growing renewable energy. In 2022, a total of 153,101 farms and ranches used renewable energy producing systems compared to 57,299 in 2012, a 167% increase over 10 years. On farm renewable energy systems include geothermal, solar panels, windmills, hydro systems and methane digesters.”

Produce from Mexico:

Due to Mexico’s outstanding general climate, multiple microclimates and substantial elevation ranges, it allows for geographically diverse regions that enable an array of produce to be grown year-round, available through the 4 main land ports of McAllen & Laredo TX, Nogales AZ, and Otay Mesa, CA

According to the FPAA – the Fresh Produce Association of the Americas – “Mexican produce is held to the same strict standards as produce grown in the U.S.  In fact, Mexican produce is tested for safety by the Food and Drug Administration at a rate of 900% higher than that of US Produce.”  Our Mexican grower partners have full 3rd party audits and certs. Two of our MX growers have Organic certifications for a wide variety of crops.

The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) that took effect in 2020, facilitates cooperation and agreement by said governments on the expectations of food safety, product health, sanitary growing conditions and sustainability commitments for both agriculture and worker conditions.
